Chewing Insects

These insects have a chewing mouthpart which consist of mandibles and other parts working together to hold/pinch, maneuver, chew and deliver food to the mouth. Examples include: Caterpillar, Grasshoppers, Ants, Sawflies, Crickets, Scarab Grubs, Codling Moth, Weevils, Corn Earworm (Tomato grub), Earwig, Cockroaches, etc. Note that, in many insects which have a complete metamorphosis, the mouth parts are different in the larval and adult stages.
